Limited Edition Manuka Honey
This is the story of a very special honey. It comes from the beehive A11 in New Zealand for Our Beautiful World. Over the 2009/2010 summer this hive produced 32kg of honey which was collected in March 2010. That makes this one of the only 63 jars.
Unblended Luxury
The queen from this hive has her own personality, and she has directed her worker bees to create a unique honey. Because the honey from this hive has not been blended with other hives, no other honey on the planet will taste like this honey!
Medicinal Manuka
Active Manuka Honey has been scientifically proven as a powerful anti-bacterial. It can be used against colds, flus, infections, stomach ulcers and more. It can give energy and promote overall wellness. Hospitals around the world are using Manuka Honey on serious burns and to fight dangerous superbugs.
This honey has been independently tested by DGM Labs to have a Manuka Activity of +16.1 (the test is the original, developed by Waikato University to Measure the non-peroxide anti-bacterial activity in Manuka Honey).
Isolated, Wild Forests
To get the purest Manuka nectar the beehive was taken to really remote natural forest. Here the flowers are far away from chemicals and pollution. the bees were able to work in a pure, untainted environment. For the first half of the summer the hive was taken to Lottin Point, far out on the most eastern coast of New Zealand's North Island.
Adventure Beekeeping
For the second half of the summer the beehive was moved far inland, to the west of the mountains in the centre of New Zealand. This must be one of the most remote prairies in the world! There is only a dangerous road in, and then the the beehive had to be ferried over a swing bridge and kilometers down a dirt track with quad bikes!
Honey Collecting
All this effort makes for a very special, very pure honey. And the royalties from this hive protect two hectares (about five acres) of natural forest!
